The six winning entries of each award are based on a longlist of 18 or less submissions containing the three ‘6 Best’ entries chosen independently by the judge and jury members as they viewed anonymous submissions. The choices were based on the evaluation of skill/style/technique, theme/subject, ingenuity, social awareness, and enjoyability/pleasure.
The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 26 in Surrey, British Columbia. The event will feature readings and presentations by the five first place winners of Surrey Muse Art & Literature Awards 2022, discussions, and Q&A. Out of town winners will present via Skype. More information about the event will be made available soon.
Surrey Muse Arts Society is grateful to the over 300 poets, writers, artists and musicians who sent submissions to the five awards, to our peers in arts organizations across Canada for their support to our outreach effort, to the featured presenters of Surrey Muse Readig Series who made cash contributions earlier this year, to the Arts Across Canada program of the Canada Council for the Arts for funding this project, and to the Cultural Grants program at the City of Surrey for their ongoing support to our contributions.
